So, I was going to have a TOTALLY different post because I went to MAGIC CASTLE last night, but they unfortunately don’t allow photography inside the castle. It’s super top secret and totally exclusive and important and fun and I’m really sad I couldn’t take photos.

But worry not! I have some cute baby photos to make up for it.

Meet Katherine. I met her last month when she was less than a week old! She is the newest addition to the beautiful Goodwin family and she is settling in quite well. And, of course, Vivienne is as cute as ever!

10 on 10 Collaboration Project, Post 16

It’s October and everyone I know is having babies.

February must be a really boring and/or utterly romantic month because I swear 95% of the women in my life got pregnant within the same time this past year and they are all due within a month of each other.

This month I’m featuring photos that I took in South Carolina of my dear friend Chandler and her husband Ben, who are expecting their first child together in just a few short weeks. Chandler was one of the very first people I met when I got to college, at Freshman orientation. And thank god, because she is also one of the best people I have ever met, of all time, ever.

I also feel like I should mention that she was seven months pregnant in these photos and the size of her “baby bump” is about the size of my belly after a large meal. I’d be mad about it, but this girl holds a huge space in my heart, so I guess I can forgive her this once.

I cannot wait to meet this amazing baby girl. I might have to fly across the country just to hold her when she arrives. Sending so much love to you both.

10 on 10 Collaboration Project, Post 15

Somehow it’s September already and it’s so hot in LA I’m literally sweating just from sitting at my desk. So, in an attempt not to move too much, here’s this month’s 10-on-10 which features some new people I met last month– Erika and Rich‘s new babies Eloise and Berenger!

Eloise and Berenger Breitengross were born on August 10th, 2014. I met the twins when they were only 6 days old. I can’t even begin to describe how tiny and perfect they are. The photos can’t do it justice. If you ever get the chance to hold newborn twins at the same time, I highly recommend it. It’s terrifying, exhilarating, and wonderful all rolled into one amazing feeling.

Happy 1 month, E+B. You two are the bomb.

Breakfast at the Ace Hotel with the Goodwin Family!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Today, I’m sharing some photos from a few weeks ago when I had breakfast with Them Goodwins at the Ace Hotel in DTLA. This is my third time photographing this gorgeous family (and another baby girl on the way in November!) and I love seeing how much Vivienne has grown since the first time I met them.

Congrats on the newest addition, Elsie and Bobby! I can’t wait to take some maternity photos in a couple months!

Keeping Busy…

Last week, I got back from an AMAZING business trip (look at me being all adult and saying “business trip”) in Europe, where I was literally hired to take photos for a week, and my job description involved shopping and food. I know, I still am pinching myself that I landed that gig. I never quite hit the level of jet lag I was expecting when I got back.

I’ll talk more about my trip soon (as soon as I get through all the photos!), but for now, here’s a sneak peek into the welcome back weekend: an engagement shoot on Saturday and a family shoot on Sunday. I couldn’t have asked for a better job. And to top it all off, today is my one-year anniversary working with Oh Joy! Hooray!

A Gorgeous Setting + A Gorgeous Family – Chino Hills, CA

This is my second time working with Vivienne, Bobby and Elsie, who asked me back to take some family portraits a little before the holidays last year. This time we met in a gorgeous neighborhood with some of the most scenic views one could ask for.

The weather was gorgeous, too, and we timed the shoot for the best time of day: right before sunset, when the light casts a perfect golden hue over everything it touches. In cinematography, it’s referred to as the “magic hour.” One glimpse at these photos and you’ll understand why you should plan to do the same for your next shoot…

Happy First Birthday, Vivienne!

I always love when I have cute models to work with! Meet Vivienne, she reached her first big milestone and turned one year old this month! To celebrate, her parents got her a bright pink cake and some balloons. Then we spent the morning playing with toys and swinging on the swings in the park.

I had a blast watching Vivienne try cake for the first time. She didn’t really know what to think— check out that face after her first bite of icing!

Maybe her sweet tooth just hasn’t grown in yet.
